World Mental Health Day 2023

It’s World Mental Health Day on Tuesday 10 October 2023, and the BBP is keen to raise awareness of mental health and driving positive change. The official theme for 2023, set by the World Federation for Mental Health is ‘Mental health is a universal human right’.

The day is also a chance to talk about mental health, how we need to look after it, and how important it is to get help if you are struggling.

Suicide Awareness Training

We’re encouraging all colleagues to take the 20 minute online suicide awareness training provided by the Zero Suicide Alliance - https://www.zerosuicidealliance.com/suicide-awareness-training

It’s one small thing we can all do to increase our knowledge and help prevent suicides in Hounslow.

When you’ve taken the training, encourage others to take it too by photographing yourself with the A3 campaign poster which you can find on the following link (World Suicide Prevention Day | London Borough of Hounslow).  It would be great if we could get a whole wall of photos of people from across the borough.

Photos should be sent to public.health@hounslow.gov.uk.

You can find more information and resources on suicide prevention here:
