Following a competitive recruitment process, the Hounslow Borough Based Partnership this week welcomed Ben Collins to the senior leadership team, as the new Programme Director for Integrated Care. Ben will build on the findings from the PWC report, which established a clear case for change for health and care pathways for older people in the borough, and proposed radical redesign of services and models, to improve integration, patient experience and outcomes.
Ben was previously the Director of System Development for the South East London Integrated Care system, where he supported the development of the new Integrated Care Board and developed its strategic priorities for prevention, early years, mental health and transformation of primary and community care.
Before this, he was a director at the King’s Fund think tank, where he led research on high performing health systems, new care models and innovation. He has also worked in the Department of Health and national NHS bodies.
Ben’s work will be directed by the Chief Executives of West London NHS Trust, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Hounslow Council, the North West London Integrated Care Board and the Hounslow GP Consortium.
Welcoming him to the borough, the borough lead NHS Provider Director, Dr Chris Hilton (West London NHS Trust), said “I’m really excited to start working with Ben as we continue our journey towards a new operating model for supporting frail older people. With an ageing population with complex needs across health and care in the borough, Hounslow has all the right ingredients to make a real change to the way services work for and with people in neighbourhoods”.
