This December the BBP is shining a spotlight on some incredible projects that have been delivered throughout the year, from across the partnership.
In May almost 100 people visited the Brentford FC Community Sports Trust for the launch of the Wellbeing and Recovery College.
This was a new partnership between the West London NHS Trust and Brentford FC's Community Sports Trust to help make the college more accessible to the community.
The Wellbeing & Recovery College is a training and resource centre which develops and delivers education and tools to support wellbeing and the self-management of mental health difficulties. They work with students to either support them in their recovery, or help provide support for others.
We launched our new Hounslow Health and Care Website in June to help support increased collaboration and integration between BBP colleagues by providing access to BBP news updates, shared learning, best practice examples, staff directories, project updates, training events, plus access to an extensive ‘Resource Centre’ where colleagues can access data dashboards.
Since launching, the website has been viewed more than 15,000 times by over 3,500 users. If you have any suggestions for improvements, or wish to promote a news item, please email Kayley.
Health in the Park dominated July with more than 2000 residents visiting this mega health and wellbeing event organised by the BBP in collaboration with Hounslow Council, NHS, voluntary and community partners. Visitors enjoyed a day of fun and healthy activities in Redlees Park such as outdoor yoga, football, Tai Chi, peddling on a Smoothie bike and much more.
The event was a first of its kind for the BBP, as it worked with more than 30 services and local community groups to co-design an event that aimed to motivate visitors to become more active and lead healthier lifestyles, so that they are not impacted by long term health conditions. The BBP hopes to deliver another Health in the Park in 2024.
Anne Stratton, Director, Hounslow Borough Based Partnership (BBP) and Chief Operating Officer, Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare, said:
“The Health in the Park event was a first for the BBP and it enabled us to collaborate with many local and diverse communities. This new approach to health engagement also brought more residents and health professionals closer together in a friendly and informal environment.”
In August the BBP were proud to shine a light on Sadia Khan, Service Director for Cardiology at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust who highlighted how one Tweet from Hounslow Council led to a new partnership between West Middlesex University Hospital and the Council to make digital health services more inclusive for residents.
The Digital Inclusion for Social Health and Impact Project aims to:
- Reduce digital exclusion
- Implement data sharing
- Create a working partnership
- Breakdown health barriers impacted by digital inequalities.
‘Data Assets’ are now mapped across the borough, illustrating where areas of poor health occur within Hounslow, these data geographical locations can then be matched to interventions being delivered in the community setting. This approach underpins the BBP Accelerator Population Health Management project objective to use data to develop evidence-based interventions.
Next week we will be highlighting new services, Link Worker teams and project outcomes that were delivered from September to December.
