Join us to mark Carers Rights Day 2024 and learn about the support available over the winter period, including support for carers.
The Adult Social Care team, in partnership with the Community Hub, will be in the Atrium of West Middlesex Hospital on Thursday, 21 November, from 10am to 3pm.
Available from 10am to 3pm:
- Department for Work and Pensions (DWP): Get advice on Carer Benefits.
- Adult Social Care Pop-Up Information Shop: Find out about the services and support available to you.
Available from 10am to 1pm:
- Citizens Advice Hounslow: Receive guidance and support on financial issues.
- Housing and Hospital Link Team: Get guidance on issues related to housing.
- Health Outreach Team: Get free health checks, advice and information.
- The Mulberry Centre: Support for those affected by cancer or bereavement support and their carers.
- Hounslow Borough Respiratory Support Group: Find out about respiratory health support.
Come along for valuable information, advice and guidance on managing your bills and your health, caring related topics, or an informal chat with a Social Worker.

Elderly or frail residents are invited to the Slippers for Christmas Stay Steady and Active event, where they can swap an old, worn-out slippers for a brand new, free pair.
Visitors aged 60 plus can also enjoy FREE taster activity sessions, speak to a physio, get a blood pressure test, learn new ways to increase activity levels, test balance abilities, and reduce the risks of falls.
The event is on Tuesday 3 December, 10am – 1 pm at Heston Pools & Fitness, New Heston Road, Heston, Hounslow, TW5 0LW.
All activities have been designed by health and community partners to offer something fun for the over 60s. Residents can:
- Participate in a strength and balance class
- Enjoy a dance class
- Talk to a physio
- Get a blood pressure reading
- Test their balance with our Health Outreach Team
- Have a FREE swim session.
Stay Steady and Active has been developed by the Hounslow Borough Based Partnership to help increase activity levels, test balance abilities, and reduce the risks of falls for residents aged 60 plus.
The initiative offers free exercise classes, access to a 12-week strength and balance programme, signposting to a range of activities for the over 60’s, plus a Staying Steady test that residents can do at home to understand if they need additional clinical support.
