124 Community Champions registered. The sessions enabled staff to gain a deep insight into the diverse communities that make up the borough’s population, hearing from voices we hadn’t ever/often heard from.
Working with residents and workers, we were able to understand the community needs better and therefore support them better with their suggestions that were culturally appropriate.
The Programme has evolved, on Wednesday 12 April 2023 a new Community Connectors Programme was launched. All existing Community Champions were invited to register as Community Connectors. Community Connectors will be building more widely on the work of the Community Champions, by addressing more broadly health and well-being in its entirety.
