Russell Finex is a SME engineering company based in Feltham, employing predominantly men.

At a recent workplace health and wellbeing engagement event held on site, public health professionals stressed the value of cancer screening and the importance of symptom awareness.

Some men admitted they had ignored the bowel cancer screening kit they had received in the post, so they were given the support and information they needed to request a new one.

Feedback from the employer was as follows:

“We have made a conscious effort to focus on health and wellbeing in the past year and this event really supported us.

The continued education and awareness have encouraged people to go to see their GPs to discuss things that are different or have changed in their bodies.

Some of these have since had biopsies. Whilst everything has been fine for them by having the education and going through the system has removed the stress caused by worrying”
