Being Visible in our Communities – Health Outreach Team

The Public Health Outreach team (HOT) provide information to all residents regarding campaigns, events, and the health services available to them. They bridge the gap for many health services and build a trust within local communities. The team operate in two ways around the Borough to maximise their reach and show regular visibility. They have a shop in Hounslow Central based in the Treaty Centre, and a mobile information van designed to engage residents around the Borough. 

The service operates five days a week from Tuesday to Saturday between 9am to 6pm. The team’s success has been working with the wider partners to attend and promote events like cost of living, faith events and local community events. During these events the team provide vaccinations, blood pressure checks, body mass index measurements and sign post them sign to our services.

A recent project involved the HOT team working with the Feltham and Bedfont Primary Care Network from September 2022 to the end of February 2023 where they vaccinated 2943 residents by setting up the vaccination bus three times a week including low uptake areas.
