Purpose
Digital innovation has a critical role to play in enabling integration between different health and social care organisations. Our employment of specific technology enables us to put the lives and needs of our communities first, ensuring that all front-line staff have access to the right data together with the right tools for collaboration and delivery, as well as the competence and confidence to use them effectively.
Providing integrated care through digital technology will deliver better services which can be made available and easily accessible from home.
Digital inclusion is also a critical element of the BBP’s work and will be embedded into the practical delivery of our projects, ensuring that we are not and will not exclude any sections of our community through lack of connectivity, kit, or skills.
- Secure WIFI access in all main buildings that provide health and care services across the borough.
- Improve data and programme information sharing between partner organisations.
- Invest in assisting technology and Internet of Things (IoT) to monitor vital signs and provide health professional with critical insights into the progression or early onset of an illness.
- Enable online visits to people in hospitals and facilitate more GP appointments online.
This project is still in its infancy stages, and further updates will be added at a later date.
